The Zostera 13,500 lb Winch features a powerful, series-wound motor that is more efficient and reliable than a permanent magnet motor. It generates greater torque and dissipates heat more effectively at high speeds. The 1/2 inch x 80 ft synthetic rope is made of 12-strand Dyneema SK75 fiber, which is lightweight yet stronger than steel. This synthetic rope is safer to use than a steel rope, as it generates less kinetic energy and is less likely to snap back.

The winch utilizes a hardened steel, 3-stage planetary gear train for efficient and reliable operation, providing a gear ratio of 265 to 1 and an automatic full-load brake.

To select the appropriate 12V winch for your vehicle or trailer, determine the gross vehicle weight (GVW) and choose a winch with a capacity that is 1.5 to 2 times your GVW. This 13,500 lb capacity winch is suitable for vehicles with an approximate GVW of 9,000 lbs. Keep in mind that a winch with a higher capacity is always better, as factors like slope and rolling friction can increase the weight of the vehicle.

The Zostera winch features a finned heat sink that allows for quick heat dissipation, keeping the motor cool. The free-spool clutch enables you to pull out the rope by hand, which is much faster than waiting for the drum to unroll the synthetic rope.

The winch comes with two wireless remote controls, allowing you to operate the winch from up to 260 ft (80 m) away. Additionally, a weather-resistant hand-held remote with a 133-inch (3.4 m) lead and an in/out rocker switch allows you to control the winch at a safe distance.

The Zostera winch is water- and weather-resistant to IP67 specifications, ensuring it can withstand even the harshest environments. Compared to steel cable, the synthetic rope is lighter, reducing the impact on the front suspension of your vehicle.
